The courts may allow between 60 to 90 days for couples to reconsider their future, depending on the specific location.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to have more time to make this choice, you can request a hearing before the judge who granted your divorce. Once at the divorce hearing, you will need to provide evidence proving one spouse&#8217;s inability or incompetence is preventing a final decision regarding the divorce.<\/p>\n<p>If the couple does opt for the divorce, they will need to apply for a Motion to Continue the Proceedings. The court will then decide whether or not to grant this motion. The couple needs to inform within the set time frame by applying for the motion to voluntarily dismiss the dissolution, as the court welcomes said decision.
