Under Arizona law, a legal separation cannot be finalized until 60 days after the Petitioner serves the Respondent. In mediation, the entire process can take 2-4 months. In litigation, the process can take up to one year or longer<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

According to AZLeg.Gov\u00a0ARS 24-329<\/a>, \u201cThe court shall not consider a submission of a motion supported by affidavit or hold a trial or hearing on an application for a decree of dissolution of marriage or legal separation until sixty days after the date of service of process or the date of acceptance of process.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources say the average time to finalize a legal separation is 90 to 120 days. However, the legal separation process can take even longer, up to six months, especially if your separation involves children.<\/p>\n
